An unapproved sketch for the sniper's insignia designed by Paul Casberg supposedly in 1943. The approved badge was a sleeve patch and was established by the Order of August 20, 1944 for the Army and SS to award individual snipers for outstanding performance in shooting causing casualties to enemy.
